Our Jags. Are they perfect? No. But we love our cats anyway and “there’s always next year!” But our home football team and their dominant downtown stadium aren’t the only game in town. Let’s talk basketball. Did you know that the Jacksonville 95ers are one of the newest pro teams of The Basketball League (TBL) for the 2024 season? Yahoo Sports reports that the 95ers are an NBA official minor league that prepares players, coaches, officials, and others for the NBA (you saw them here first!) Baseball fan? We’ve got you covered! The Jumbo Shrimp are Jax’ team! Our Shrimp are a minor league baseball team in the International League AND the triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Their stadium is beautiful, and the games are full of fun. (and who doesn’t want a jersey with a grimacing crustacean on it?)
If you like your sports on ice, check out our NHL affiliate minor league hockey team, The Jacksonville Icemen! The ice guys are the NHL affiliate for the Buffalo Sabres as of 2023. Their games are exciting!
Yes – we play soccer here too! The Armada football club is on fire and will join MLS NEXT Pro in 2025 as an independent club. A new stadium and lots more excitement is heading our way!
